these are just...

some artsy pics of the twenty-nine inch wheels that i am building up.

another note with these...i finished the front. for i have a 'plan' for it already, even though i've got nothing in the way of a frame, but i'll put it once i get it finished. i'm waiting for a tire.

however; i spent the other night truing it, and getting all the spokes tensioned up. and yesterday i took into the shop to check the dish, and wouldn't you fucking know...perfect. it suprised the shit out of me. i checked it once. checked in again. i said 'no, that can't be. i must have done something wrong.' nope. checked in a third time. holy, shit. so, i'm pretty stoked about it.

a great day...

first rest...

at mohican. we did the twenty four mile route, and then we headed over to the wilderness for the next nine miles. just an amazing day of riding.

the vicious was out in great form. ben was stomping the pedals on his unit. i really don't know what to say. the ride was epic. that was our goal. the trail flowed really well. the color of the leaves. the fallen pine on the trail. because of these factors, the trail was a little 'loose'. there were a couple of times it felt like tokyo drift going into the turns. there were a couple of times that tree almost met bike/me. ben felt the drift too.

over all i just flowed with the trail. hitting the downhill, and then comes the 'bumps' or the rocks. i just allowed. and it was great. in one section i hit a small rock garden, and didn't hit the brakes. i felt something brush against my foot. i thought it was a rock. quick look down, and i noticed i lost a bottle. nice.

all that riding and no mechanicals. even though i heard a lot of 'pings' off of the tires. the mtn bike gods were smiling on us that day.

here's to a great day in the saddle. thanks.

so i trucked...

my ass out to lorain county community college the other day. little cool. wool is so nice. anyway...

the thoughts started going through my mind...why do i have so many bikes? i could really do with only three, hell even two. my c-cross, and my mtn bike (the moots); the third would be my fixed cross.

but the feeling subsided. once i remembered the sadness of getting rid of the ybb.

i already missed a couple of cross races. i'm going to try and make the rest; however i think one race is on the day i'm planning a big mtn ride.

during friday's...

great baseball game (go tribe) i was able to build up these...

twenty-nine inch salsa delgado disc rims to some surly hubs. fixed/free...

just a prelude to things to come...

also, in a couple of weekends i'm going to re-do my work area, and i'll put up some pics of that. i'm really looking forward to that, because my current set up is driving me crazy.

in addtion i'll be doing more commuting to school. i worked out my route over the weekend to figure out time and such. so i'll be logging more miles, hell miles period.

here are a couple...

of pictures from interbike, and i do mean a few...

here we have a bike from spot brand where they are using a belt drive drive train. check out the link for more. this was the 'coolest' thing i saw. this is a great idea, at least for up here in the north east. one: it sheds mud. two: because of the first, it will shed snow. third: no rust. all year long riding with no worries. they are having ideas on how to hook this up to an internal drive train, less worries, more riding in more weather.

and these are just some pics of some pegoretti...

you may be thinking...'you went to the show, and this is all you have?' yes. i've got my own feelings about the show and the industry, of which i'll keep to myself right now.
