so i have...

to say that cleveland is not dead...yet.

since i don't read cleveland's illustrious paper i was given the metro section of twenty-one of january, and they had on the front page a story of an alley cat race that took place through cleveland. at one check point the rider had to either chug a pbr or do fifteen push-ups. at another the rider had to do a 'pit stop' where they had to remove the front wheel from the frame, deflate, and reflate the tire with everything in hand; bike and manifest. the next planned one is going to be on saint patty's day, or evacuation day if you like history. i tried to find the link to this on the paper's site, but trying to find anything on their site is terrible. however if you'd like the article was written by rachel dissell, and was called 'not-so-hot pursuit.'

and then once you thought you were done with bike news for the year in a cleveland paper (that is unitl the tour de france, and they put the standings in tiny print in the sports section); on the next page they had an article about camba putting up the first trail in the cleveland metroparks. yes, first. nice. now i haven't been all over these great united states, but from what i understand we have some of the best parks systems in the country, and for some reason our 'officals' can't move forward to do this. it is great that camba finally got to them, so maybe they will see that this is a great thing.

just two...

pics of some singlespeeds from my n.y. trip...

i think this one has been sitting a while...

walking around n.y. and seeing bikes just locked up to whatever, i think that is what happens. people just lock them up and forget about them. i caught a couple of them, and the drivetrain was just rust. and that was it.

the messengers was nuts. the hardcore ones that i saw. they're right...a whole other level.
